Sensory Ganglion. Sensory ganglia are located within the dorsal root of each spinal nerve and are also known as Dorsal Root Ganglia or Spinal Ganglia. They contain the cell bodies (black arrows) of the incoming sensory (pseudounipolar) neurons. The nuclei of these neurons tend to be centrally located in the cell body. The ganglia usually contain bundles of nerve fibers (outlined in yellow) that tends to locate the neuron cell bodies into groups. The "clustering" of the cell bodies helps to distinguish this type of gangion from a sympathetic ganglion.
